A brand new day ...

A good thing about tough times is that it makes you appreciate the good times, and God always has a brand new day awaiting you to show you just how blessed you truly are. Thank you all so much for your kind and motivating words - I really took them to heart and it uplifted me like you'll never believe!

I went to a farewell party yesterda for our CEO at the absolutely stunning Iron Horse Hotel. I wasn't looking forward to going - I hate goodbyes, particularly when it's for someone as phoenomenal and inspiring as our CEO, but I'm glad I went. It brought a bit of peace and closure to some of the uncertainty in my life right now, and with the peace, some of my stress was relieved as well.

On my way out of the party, while walking out through Branded and seeing all the beautiful people relaxing and having a good time, I was punched right in the gut with a yearning and burning desire to get this weight loss/food addiction over, once and for all.

I know I'm not alone when I say this - when you look good, you feel good. The converse is also true ... when you're stressed out to the max, you look like crap. LOL Well, dear reader, I have looked like crap lately, seriously!

So as I walked through Branded and saw all the beautiful people, that punch in the gut literally made me exhale quite loudly - I wanted what I saw. You should know me by now, I'm not a very vain person. I know the importance of the weight loss results that we can't see and they are much more important to me that the results we do see. But seeing all those beautiful people - damn ... I want that!!

It was a literally breath of fresh air after that punch in the gut ... the cobwebs have been cleared out of my head, and my focus has been renewed. Regarding the stress at work - I'm only one person, and I can only do my very best. And that's all there is to that! Regarding my weight loss - I'm on a roll, I'm on fire, and I will get what I want. I have no doubt whatsoever that I will succeed!

Yesterday (Wednesday) was a rest day from personal training, but I got an early morning run and after work swim in to stay on track with my half-marathon and triathlon training. CrazyTrainerGuy greeted me this morning for a total body strength/endurance workout. Have I mentioned how much I've missed working out with him! The other trainers are great, don't get me wrong, but I've missed CrazyTrainerGuy opening a can of whoop a$$ on me during my workouts. He always knows exactly what buttons to push to get me to perform my very best!

Here's today's workout in review ...

5 min warm-up on elliptical

A1: Wall squats with stability ball - bicep curl into shoulder press, 12 lb dumbbells
A2: Overhead lats on bench, 10 lb dumbbells
A3: Captain chair crunches on bench
A4: Leg curl/hip up combo with stability ball
* Repeat this set 3 times

B1: Pushups
B2: Upright Rows using cables, 45 lbs
B3: Crunches on dyna disk
B4: Lunges with overhead shoulder press on functional trainer
*Repeat this set 3 times

Finish with 23 mins of HIIT on elliptical

I feel like I've been doing this same workout forever, and I can tell because the exercises aren't as hard anymore. This usually happens in the 4th week of my program, and I was right - CrazyTrainerGuy said he'll have a fresh torture plan for me on Monday :) Lucky me!

xo,

I'm sure you will succeed too!

To me you are a beautiful person: I admire you so much how you exercise almost every day! It's an inspiration.

And about stress at work: you're so right! It's what I always say too: I do what I can but if I can't finish something today, I will do it tomorrow.

Michelle, what a GREAT punch in the gut! lol You know what I mean... You are well on your way to reaching your goals, and the best part is - you've got the inner beauty dialed. You don't even know how proud I am of you! I have no doubt you will reach your goals, and if seeing those people gave you some new motivation then good. We all need something to punch us in the gut to get that new motivation.
On another note, just saw your post about your second WW meeting. Congrats on the loss!! I haven't been on the computer very much at all the last few days. Busy busy week.
Love ya!!

I for one are so pleased the cobwebs have gone, as I said to you before, there are so many others out there looking up to you, looking to you for guidance. Its a lot of pressure but I think its your calling.....what you are doing for so many women who are struggling with the weight issues you will never begin to understand...

Keep going towards your goal...

1) You took the words right out of my mouth about seeing all those beautiful people, wanting to be like them, and wanting to win this almost life-long battle of the bulge. I even exhaled loudly after reading that section.

2) You are so on fire! I believe in you. I KNOW you are serious to the commitment (hello..this blog, traveling for all the athletic events you partake in, your crazytrainers, the list goes on...) that there is NO WAY that you'll stop before you get there.

So proud of you 'chellie!! Go! Go! GO!!
