It's game time!

Well, I should have been in bed about 3 hours ago, but here I am. It was a CRAZY day - not exactly the type of day that I should have had the day before my first half-marathon, but that's just the way my life goes!

It's unbelievable to think in less than 12 hours, I will be a, hmm, half-marathon-er? Runner? Half-marathon-alete? Whatever ... in less than 12 hours I'm gonna have a nice honkin' medal around my neck!

I honestly could sit here for another hour blogging about all the great things that happened today (which includes a mad dash to a local sporting goods store at 8:36pm tonite because for whatever reason, I decided I wanted new clothes to wear tomorrow instead of the outfit I picked out 3 weeks ago ... I'm nuts!) , but I do really need to get to bed ... as it is, if I fall asleep in the next 5 minutes, I'm only gonna get about 4 hours of sleep before I have to wake up and hit the road - I'm planning to leave the house at 2:30am for the drive to Rosemont, IL to pick up my friend and her hubby, then drive to Millennium Park in downtown Chicago - hoping to be there by 4:45 and the hubby needs to report to the Volunteer check-in at 5am.

The half-marathon starts at 6:30am, but we're in Corral #19, so I think we'll be crossing the start line around 6:50 or so. If you really want to, you can actually catch the run streaming online for free - I can't seem to find the link, but you can check on the main site here.

Oh - one last thing - check out our cool timing strips ...

These shoes are gonna carry me 13.1 miles, baby!

They're disposable and we just attach them to our laces and go! It's really cool because it's personalized with my bib number (19217) and my name too :)

Okay - I really do need to get to bed. I'll have a post-race report for you on Tuesday!
